> Ethereum added $243.4 million in stablecoin market capitalization over seven days through Oct. 10, while Ether fell 7.1% to $2,492.27.

Ethereum’s stablecoin market capitalization rose $243.4 million over seven days through Oct. 10, while Ether (ETH) fell 7.1% to $2,492.27, showing that larger dollar-linked token balances did not establish stronger ETH demand.

Stablecoin market capitalization measures the value of dollar-linked tokens circulating on a blockchain. An increase can expand the funds available for trading, payments or decentralized finance, but it does not show that users bought ETH or that the added tokens entered active markets.

Arbitrum One added $108.6 million in stablecoin market capitalization during the same period, while Base gained $51.1 million. Combined with Ethereum, the three networks added $403.1 million.

Other market measures pointed to weaker positioning in ETH. Open interest rose from about $12 billion in mid-August to nearly $18 billion in late September before falling to approximately $15.42 billion by Oct. 10. Open interest reflects the value of outstanding derivatives contracts and can indicate how much exposure traders hold in the market.

U.S. spot Ether exchange-traded fund outflows during the week ending Oct. 10 also pointed to weaker positioning. Ethereum’s Network Realized Profit/Loss indicator fluctuated around zero during October and approached negative 121,000, indicating that realized losses were becoming more prominent in the measure.

ETH traded below the reported $2,535-$2,559 support zone when the analysis was updated at 1 p.m. EDT (5 p.m. UTC) on Oct. 10. The $2,565 level was identified as a level to watch.

The figures do not establish that stablecoin growth caused ETH’s decline or that it will reverse the move. They show that Ethereum’s dollar-linked token value increased while ETH price performance and several positioning indicators weakened.
