# Ether Jumps 1.6% in One Hour to $2,548 as Shorts Face Liquidations

Ether (ETH) climbed 1.55% in one hour to $2,548 at 12:28 p.m. ET (16:28 UTC) on Oct. 11, extending its 24-hour gain to 1.62%. TokenPost calculated the move from publicly available spot prices on Binance’s ETH/USDT market.

Ether rose from $2,509 one hour earlier to the current price. The move coincided with $16.63 million in short liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX during the same hour, compared with $100,000 in long liquidations.

Ether is the second-largest crypto asset by market capitalization. The figures reflect market conditions at the stated time and may change as trading continues.
