> Long positions accounted for $146 million of the total, while Bitcoin and Ether liquidations topped $45 million each.

Crypto derivatives traders faced $149 million in liquidations during the hour ended at 7:50 p.m. ET Monday (23:50 UTC), with long positions accounting for nearly the entire total.

Long positions represented $146 million of the liquidated contracts, while short positions accounted for $3.64 million. The imbalance shows that most forced closures affected traders positioned for prices to rise.

Bitcoin (BTC) liquidations totaled $48.52 million during the period. Ether (ETH) liquidations reached $45.38 million.

Liquidations occur when exchanges forcibly close leveraged positions after traders can no longer meet margin requirements. The figures cover the one-hour period ending at 7:50 p.m. ET Monday.
