> IBIT recorded the largest single-day outflow, matching the market total. Spot Bitcoin ETF assets stood at $106.058 billion as of publication.

U.S. spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs recorded $65.401 million in combined net outflows on Oct. 12 ET (UTC-4), while BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) posted the largest single-day net outflow at the same amount.

IBIT’s historical cumulative net inflows reached $65.668 billion. Across the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market, total net assets stood at $106.058 billion as of publication, representing 6.35% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization.

Cumulative net inflows across the funds reached $57.041 billion.

ETF flow figures reflect the creation and redemption of fund shares rather than direct Bitcoin purchases by BlackRock for its corporate balance sheet. IBIT is structured to give investors brokerage-account exposure to Bitcoin.

Some institutional investors also use IBIT in basis trades, pairing ETF purchases with short Bitcoin futures positions. The strategy seeks to capture the difference between spot and futures prices as they converge.
