> About 86% of the liquidations involved bullish positions as semiconductor stocks fell across Asia, intensifying pressure on leveraged crypto traders.

About $803 million in leveraged crypto positions were liquidated over the 24 hours ending around 1:27 a.m. ET (05:27 UTC) Oct. 13, as a sharp semiconductor selloff in Asia pressured risk assets and erased more bullish trades.

Long positions accounted for $694 million, or 86%, of the total, affecting about 172,113 traders. SanDisk perpetual-futures contracts saw $19.09 million in liquidations, narrowly exceeding XRP’s $18.78 million and nearly matching HYPE’s $19.04 million.

Bitcoin (BTC) posted $181 million in liquidations, followed by Ether (ETH) at $178 million. Solana (SOL) recorded $60 million, while Zcash (ZEC) and NEAR saw $24 million and $22 million, respectively.

The largest single liquidation was a $9.65 million Bitcoin long closed near $81,773. Perpetual futures are leveraged contracts without expiration, and exchanges forcibly close positions when losses consume the trader’s collateral.

South Korea’s KOSPI fell sharply during the semiconductor rout, while Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix also declined. The market drop added pressure to crypto-linked chip contracts as traders unwound leveraged exposure.
