> Historical readings put STX’s four-week gain near 60%, while Stacks’ Genesis Bond reached 230 BTC and STX began trading on Bullish.

Stacks’ STX token gained roughly 60% over about four weeks in historical market readings as the network advanced a Bitcoin-staking design that includes institutional participation.

One reading put STX at $0.4295 on Oct. 13, up from $0.2658 on Sept. 13. A separate closing reading showed the token at $0.42570, compared with $0.26540 a month earlier. The two datasets use different prices and do not specify time zones.

Stacks’ Bitcoin-staking design uses Proof of Transfer. Participants lock Bitcoin (BTC) on Bitcoin’s base layer and pair it with STX on the Stacks network. The STX functions as staking capacity, while rewards are paid in BTC from miner commitments.

The PoX-5 phase uses six-month bonding periods, with a new period opening about once a month. Its BTC-to-STX ratio is set at 5%. Bitcoin remains locked on Bitcoin’s Layer 1 under the participant’s custody.

The Genesis Bond began Sept. 10 and its latest published total was 230 BTC. Participants included 21Shares, HashKey, UTXO Management and Sypher Capital. The bond reached capacity, with its first BTC rewards expected Sept. 17.

STX and sBTC began trading on Bullish on Sept. 3. The listing added an institutional trading venue for the two Stacks-related assets.

The price increase coincided with several network milestones, including the July 30 PoX-5 upgrade, the Genesis Bond and the Bullish listing. The available figures do not establish that any single event caused STX’s advance.

Stacks is a smart-contract network built around Bitcoin. Self-custodial staking is currently limited to approved anchor participants, while pooled staking is available without a whitelist.

PoX-6 has been discussed as a possible shift to permissionless auctions and on-chain parameter setting, but no final mechanism or activation date has been established.
