> Meta projected third-quarter revenue of $61 billion to $64 billion after second-quarter sales rose 28% to $60.8 billion.

Meta stock faces a $786.31 resistance level ahead of the company’s third-quarter earnings release, with investors also watching advertising growth, rising costs and artificial intelligence spending.

Meta will publish its third-quarter results after the market closes Oct. 21 and hold a conference call at 4:30 p.m. ET (20:30 UTC). The company projected third-quarter revenue of $61 billion to $64 billion.

Meta reported second-quarter revenue of $60.8 billion, a 28% increase from a year earlier. Ad impressions rose 14%, while average advertising prices increased 12%. Facebook ad conversions improved 15.7%.

Higher sales did not translate into stronger operating income. Operating income declined 8% in the second quarter as costs increased 55% to $42 billion.

Meta’s artificial intelligence plans remain another focus for the earnings report. The company has outlined expected annual capital spending of $130 billion to $145 billion, reflecting the scale of its investment in AI infrastructure and related capacity.

Meta has also barred ByteDance advertising across Facebook and Instagram in seven countries, including the United States. The restrictions extend to outside advertisers that link to TikTok.

The technical setup places the stock above its hourly 20-period and 50-period moving averages, near $729 and $731.82, respectively. The relative strength index is 60.29.

Immediate support is identified at $731.96, while resistance stands at $786.31. A break below support would weaken the current technical setup. The next scheduled catalyst is Meta’s earnings release on Oct. 21.
