> Crypto market capitalization rose 11% to $2.99 trillion, while spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $3.49 billion in monthly inflows.

Bitcoin (BTC) crossed a widely watched trend threshold on Sept. 8, as its 50-day moving average moved above its 200-day average during a month of gains and strong U.S. spot ETF inflows.

Total cryptocurrency market capitalization rose 11% to $2.99 trillion in September 2026. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds drew $3.49 billion in inflows that month.

The moving-average crossover was among the market developments reviewed in October’s monthly report, published Oct. 6 and focused on September activity. The review also discussed market sensitivity to real yields and demand for exchange-traded funds.

Tokenized assets and on-chain market infrastructure were another focus. Pre-IPO perpetuals volume reached $1.3 billion in September, while bStocks’ decentralized finance utilization reached 11.2%. Tokenized equities were also being used more often as collateral in decentralized finance applications.
