> Matt Mena’s outlook allows for a pullback toward $81,000 and ties a move higher to easing macroeconomic uncertainty.

Matt Mena, senior crypto research strategist at 21shares, said Bitcoin (BTC) could move through $85,000 toward $90,000 if macroeconomic uncertainty eases, while his outlook also allows for a pullback toward $81,000.

“The balance of risks favors a move through $85k and toward $90k once the remaining macro uncertainty clears,” Mena said. He identified $85,000 as resistance but did not give a timetable for Bitcoin to reach $90,000.

Mena also cited Bitcoin’s average seven-day return of 1.21% after hotter-than-expected core consumer price index readings since 2023. That historical figure is part of his analysis; it does not establish how Bitcoin will respond to a future inflation report.

The U.S. September CPI rose 0.6% from August and 3.7% year over year, compared with increases of 0.4% and 3.4% in August. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.3% month over month, matching August, and 2.6% over the year, up from 2.4%.

Gasoline prices climbed 9.1% in September, accounting for more than half of the monthly increase in headline CPI.

The September producer price index is scheduled for release at 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 15 (12:30 UTC). PPI measures price changes received by domestic producers. The Federal Reserve’s next policy meeting is scheduled for Oct. 27–28.
