Two-times leveraged products tied to SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics fell more than 22% and 20%, respectively, as Hong Kong memory shares slid after South Korea’s KOSPI fell 7%.

Montage Technology fell more than 9%, and GigaDevice declined more than 6%, extending weakness across Hong Kong’s memory-related stocks. The two leveraged products tied to Korean chipmakers fell more sharply than the losses in their corresponding company shares.

South Korea’s KOSPI had fallen 7%, with SK Hynix shares down 10% and Samsung Electronics off about 8%. The SK Hynix-linked product’s decline was more than twice the stock’s, while the Samsung-linked product fell more than 2.5 times as much as Samsung shares.

Across the two markets, the steepest losses were in the leveraged products, both down more than 20%. Hong Kong-listed company declines were in single digits, while the Korean stocks fell about 8% to 10%. The selloff spanned both company shares and separate leveraged products tied to Korean chipmakers.
