> Bitcoin recovered to about $81,200 as a weakening momentum reading raised questions about the rebound and potential volatility in altcoins.

Bitcoin (BTC) recovered to about $81,200 after briefly approaching $80,000, while a weakening buying-pressure reading raised questions about the rebound and the near-term outlook for altcoins.

The Buy/Sell Pressure Delta has declined, suggesting bullish momentum is easing. The dip alone is not a major warning sign; a decline lasting several days would matter more, while a negative reading would point to sellers gaining control. Possible paths include a further decline or sideways consolidation.

Weaker buying pressure in Bitcoin could have a greater effect on altcoins. When the median performance of the top 100 altcoins outpaces Bitcoin, increased volatility often follows. That outperformance rarely lasts long, with market leadership tending to reverse about every 60 days as capital flows back into Bitcoin and stablecoins.

October’s roughly flat performance so far challenges the seasonal “Uptober” narrative. October was positive in 10 of the past 13 years, a small sample from a period when the market relied more on retail momentum and leverage. The Federal Reserve meeting on Oct. 27-28 could be a catalyst for the month’s direction.
