> The 10-year Treasury yield fell, but the same-day moves do not show that rates drove the rally. Opendoor’s second-quarter net loss widened.

Opendoor Technologies (OPEN) gained 16.58% on Oct. 15, closing at $2.32 at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC) after touching its 52-week low again. The move came as the 10-year Treasury yield declined, while the company’s latest quarterly results showed a larger net loss.

The stock reached $1.93 on Oct. 14, its lowest mark in 52 weeks, and returned to that price briefly during the following session before ending higher. The 10-year Treasury yield was 5.10% on Oct. 15, down from 5.19% a day earlier, a nine-basis-point decline. Those moves occurred in the same session, but their timing alone does not establish that the yield drop caused the stock rally.

Higher mortgage rates can reduce buyers’ ability or willingness to finance homes and weigh on demand for Opendoor properties. They can also increase the expense of financing and holding inventory. Opendoor buys and sells homes, making both homebuyer financing and the cost of carrying properties relevant to its business.

The company’s second-quarter revenue was $883 million, compared with $720 million in the first quarter and $1.567 billion a year earlier. That was a 23% increase from Q1 but a 44% decline from Q2 2025. Home purchases rose 77% from the prior quarter. The net loss widened to $162 million from $29 million in the year-earlier quarter.

Separately, Ownify offers co-ownership for eligible Opendoor homes in North Carolina. Buyers can start with 2% down, with Ownify investing alongside them.

Opendoor expects third-quarter revenue to increase at least 20% from a year earlier. Opendoor aims to achieve positive adjusted net income on a 12-month go-forward basis by year-end 2026. That is a profitability target for a forward-looking 12-month period, alongside the company’s forecast for near-term revenue growth.
