> The top 10 spot platforms recorded $408.9 billion in swaps, while the top 12 perpetual exchanges posted $1.7 trillion in notional volume.

Trading on the largest decentralized exchanges weakened in Q2 2026, with spot token swaps falling 26.5% and perpetual futures activity declining at a slower pace.

The 10 largest spot decentralized exchanges (DEXs) processed $408.9 billion in swaps, down from $556.4 billion in Q1. The 12 largest DEXs offering perpetual futures, or perps, recorded $1.7 trillion in notional volume, compared with $2 trillion in the previous quarter.

The totals track different types of activity. Spot volume counts token swaps, while perp volume measures the notional value of contracts and includes leveraged trading. The two figures therefore cannot be read as a like-for-like comparison of trading amounts.

Spot DEX volume was equivalent to 23.5% of the volume handled by the 10 largest centralized spot exchanges in Q2. That ratio rose 2.1 percentage points from Q1. It compares two groups of leading platforms and does not represent DEXs’ share of all crypto trading.

Uniswap had the largest spot DEX volume, at $168.5 billion, despite a 21.4% quarterly drop. Its activity made up 41.2% of the top 10 spot platforms’ combined total. PancakeSwap recorded $80.7 billion, down 34.4%, while Aerodrome was one of the few to grow, with volume up 33.2% to $44.7 billion.

Monthly perp activity also shifted during the quarter. Volume slid from $605.7 billion in March to $505.1 billion in April, then topped $600 billion in June. The monthly figures show a recovery from April’s level, though total Q2 volume remained below Q1.

The quarterly retreat followed a longer expansion in DEX activity. Spot volume increased from $95.86 billion in January 2024 to $231.29 billion in January 2026. Perp volume climbed from $81.74 billion to $739.48 billion over the same two-year span.

Robinhood Chain added another source of DEX activity after its public launch on July 1, 2026. The chain had generated more than $88.9 billion in trading volume since launch. Daily volume on its native DEXs rose from $1.3 million on launch day to a peak of $3.5 billion on Sept. 4.
