> NEAR hit a $4.528 session low on Oct. 15. Its staking mechanism for recurring AI compute credits has no quantified demand impact.

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) closed 18.9% below its Oct. 12 session high on Oct. 17, while price data do not establish whether demand for its AI products contributed to the earlier rally.

The $6.028 figure was the highest price recorded in the Oct. 12 daily session, not a daily close. NEAR then reached $4.528 in the session labeled Oct. 15, putting that low 24.9% below the earlier peak. The $4.890 close in the Oct. 17 session was 18.9% below the Oct. 12 high. The first comparison uses an intraday low; the second compares the peak with a later session close.

Each cited session ended at 11:59 a.m. ET (15:59 UTC) on its labeled date. These windows matter when comparing daily prices because a session labeled for one calendar day can end before that day is over in the United States. The figures describe specific session points rather than a midnight-to-midnight U.S. trading day.

NEAR’s AI case includes a staking-based payment mechanism announced July 30. The mechanism converts staked NEAR into recurring AI compute credits. Users can reclaim their tokens after unstaking, linking token use to compute payments through a recoverable stake.

The feature’s demand impact and its relationship to October trading are not quantified. A move in market price alone cannot establish that connection.

NEAR’s agent-economy model assigns its token potential roles in security, coordination, settlement and ecosystem economics.

The price record establishes the scale of the retreat from the Oct. 12 high. It does not establish whether demand for NEAR’s AI products helped drive that high or whether another factor contributed to the move.
