> The two Ethereum positions totaled $116.09 million on Oct. 17, down 9.67% from Sept. 17; the snapshots do not show what drove the decline.

The combined dollar value of two Ethereum positions in Aave V3 Umbrella fell $12.43 million over about a month as their displayed extra reward rates rose, but the snapshots do not identify why the values declined.

Together, the stakes were valued at $128,523,554 on Sept. 17 at 7:01 p.m. ET (23:01 UTC) and $116,093,687 on Oct. 17 at 11:01 a.m. ET (15:01 UTC), a 9.67% decrease across 29 days and 16 hours.

The position backing USD Coin (USDC) dropped $5,301,624, from $58,739,617 to $53,437,993. Its displayed extra reward rate rose from 1.66% to 1.82%, while the base rate increased from about 3.60% to 3.77%. The USDT position fell $7,128,243, from $69,783,937 to $62,655,694. Its extra rate moved from 1.46% to 1.63%, and its base rate rose from about 3.02% to 3.12%.

Applying each snapshot’s displayed extra rate to the stake’s dollar value yields estimated annualized extra rewards of $1,993,923.12 on Sept. 17 and $1,993,859.28 on Oct. 17. These are calculations from two points in time, not totals paid during the period.

Umbrella users stake assets to help cover deficits in the corresponding asset and network. They continue to earn the underlying lending yield and receive additional safety rewards in exchange for taking on slashing risk. Slashing can begin if a deficit exceeds the configured offset. The extra reward rate is tied to target liquidity and can change as staking levels shift, but these observations do not show which settings or stake changes explain the increase. They also do not establish whether the lower dollar values reflect withdrawals, valuation changes or slashing.

The withdrawal process includes a 20-day cooldown followed by a two-day withdrawal window, with stakes still exposed to slashing during the cooldown. A Sept. 25 governance proposal sought to renew reward allowances through Dec. 2, 2026, covering accrued unclaimed rewards and scheduled emissions. It proposed keeping emission rates, target liquidity and cooldown parameters unchanged.
