> The preliminary, unaudited outlook projects net profit of 131 billion to 132.5 billion yuan for January through September, compared with a loss a year earlier.

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) shares fell 6.5% in China on Monday, despite a preliminary forecast for a return to profit that points to a sharp shift in the memory-chip maker’s 2026 results.

The company projected preliminary, unaudited net profit attributable to shareholders of 131 billion to 132.5 billion yuan for January through September. It recorded a 5.28 billion yuan loss in the same period a year earlier. Revenue was forecast at 265 billion to 270 billion yuan, an increase of 232.9 billion to 237.9 billion yuan from a year earlier.

CXMT connected part of the expected improvement to rising demand for AI computing since the second half of 2025. It said that demand strengthened the global DRAM market, contributing to supply shortages and higher prices. The company also cited capacity expansion, research and development, process improvements, higher wafer output and utilization, scale effects, operations, market expansion and supply-chain cooperation.

CXMT’s share of global DRAM revenue reached 10% in Q2 2026, up from 4% in Q2 2025. It competes with Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron Technology as it pursues [a larger role in the global DRAM market](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/29792>).
