> Their positions were less than 5% from estimated liquidation prices across three tokens, including Bitcoin and Ether.

Eleven large crypto accounts held positions worth about $192 million less than 5% from estimated liquidation prices in an Oct. 19 snapshot, putting leveraged trades close to potential forced closure.

The exposure covered three tokens, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). The $192 million measures positions near liquidation thresholds. It is not a tally of losses or completed liquidations.

For Bitcoin and Ether, short positions faced risk if prices rose toward their estimated liquidation prices. Long positions faced risk if prices fell. Traders on both sides of the market were therefore exposed to an adverse move at the time of the snapshot.

An estimated liquidation price marks a level at which a leveraged position may be forcibly closed; reaching it is different from merely approaching it. The Oct. 19 figures captured the distance to those levels at one point in time. They did not break out exposure by token or specify how much of the total was held in short positions.
