> The stock closed at $88.47 on Oct. 19. A day later, Sea Chairman and CEO Forrest Li raised a possible Monee listing and outlined plans to offer Sea Cloud to outside customers.

Sea Limited (SE) shares fell 5.65% Monday, a day before Chairman and CEO Forrest Li raised the possibility of a public listing for Monee, the company’s digital financial services business.

The stock closed Oct. 19 at $88.47 at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC), down $5.30 from its Oct. 16 close of $93.77. Shares opened at $93, reached $93.09 and traded as low as $87.88.

Sea’s 14-session relative strength index (RSI) was below 30 at the close, a level associated with oversold conditions. The reading describes recent trading activity but does not establish what caused Monday’s decline.

Sea disclosed Li’s employee message on Oct. 20, after the share-price drop. Li described a possible public listing for Monee but gave no date, valuation or transaction terms.

“Going public could give it the resources and the room to go further and faster than it can today,” Li said of Monee.

For the quarter ended June 30, Monee’s revenue rose 58.9% year over year to $1.4 billion. Principal outstanding on consumer and small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) loans totaled $11.1 billion at quarter-end. That included $10 billion on Sea’s books and $1.1 billion off its books.

Monee is one of Sea’s three main businesses, alongside Shopee in e-commerce and Garena in gaming. Li also said Sea plans to offer its internally developed cloud platform to outside customers as Sea Cloud.
