> The $8.39 sale price was 93% below SharpLink’s May 2025 high. A later $7.46 close was 94% below that peak.

Consensys Software sold 5.7 million SharpLink shares for about $48 million, exiting its common-stock position in the Ether treasury company after a steep decline from its 2025 high.

The company controlled by SharpLink Chairman Joe Lubin sold its entire holding of common shares at $8.39 each. That price was about 93% below SharpLink’s intraday high of $124.12 on May 30, 2025.

SharpLink later closed at $7.46, roughly 11% below the sale price and 94% below the May high. The sale price and the later close mark separate points in the stock’s decline.

The sale did not eliminate all SharpLink exposure tied to Lubin. He held about 5 million shares directly, while Consensys had warrants covering another 3.5 million shares. The warrants are separate from the common shares Consensys sold.

Consensys had led a $425 million SharpLink deal in 2025 alongside investors including Pantera, Galaxy Digital, Arrington Capital and GSR. SharpLink announced an Ether (ETH) treasury deal on May 27, 2025, and its shares rose 412% in one session to about $34 before reaching their high three days later.

The stock then swung sharply in the other direction. Two weeks after the peak, SharpLink shares fell from $33 to below $11 in one after-hours session following a resale registration filing with the SEC. Lubin described the filing as a procedural step and said neither he nor Consensys had sold shares at the time.

Index provider MSCI has placed SharpLink on a watchlist for possible removal from its indexes. MSCI is moving to limit the inclusion of non-operating companies by November 2026. Removal would end passive investment flows tied to SharpLink’s inclusion in the affected indexes.
