> Bitcoin was above its 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages, while its relative strength index stood at 53.34.

Bitcoin (BTC) posted a UTC-dated Oct. 20 close of $82,944, between chart support at $80,433 and resistance at $87,371, leaving a daily close beyond either level as the next technical test.

Bitcoin traded near $83,000 Tuesday after rebounding from the $80,000 area. The $87,371 level marks resistance in this chart setup, while $80,433 is its first support level. Neither level had been crossed on a daily closing basis.

In the same chart reading, Bitcoin stood above both of its exponential moving averages. The 50-day average was $80,702.8, compared with $76,123.1 for the 200-day average. The shorter average was also higher than the longer one, describing recent price positioning without confirming a break above resistance.

An exponential moving average gives greater weight to recent prices than older ones. The 50-day measure therefore reflects a shorter span of trading than the 200-day measure. Their ordering provides context for the chart, but the daily close remains the stated test for its support and resistance levels.

Bitcoin’s relative strength index, a momentum measure on a scale from zero to 100, stood at 53.34. That placed it near the midpoint, between the commonly watched overbought threshold of 70 and oversold threshold of 30. The reading did not confirm a breakout.

Under this chart setup, a daily close above $87,371 would clear the identified resistance. A close below $80,433 would put the next support marker at $76,140 in focus, followed by $72,671. The $76,140 marker is near the chart’s 200-day exponential moving average, though support levels are interpretations rather than guaranteed price floors.

The U.S. 10-year Treasury par yield stood at 5.12% on Oct. 20, based on bid-side market quotes gathered near 3:30 p.m. ET (19:30 UTC). It provides a U.S. rate-market reference point alongside Bitcoin’s chart levels, but the yield does not determine which level Bitcoin will cross.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is scheduled to meet Oct. 27-28, the next dated macro event alongside the chart’s daily closing levels.
