> AVAX traded at $9.73 in an Oct. 21 snapshot. Binance futures open interest fell 4.77% over 24 hours.

Avalanche (AVAX) rose 2.66% over 24 hours to $9.73 in an Oct. 21 Binance spot snapshot, but four shorter-term moving averages still stood above the price, leaving its momentum mixed.

The token traded from $9.39 to $9.92 during the 24-hour period. Its seven-day simple moving average was $9.81, while the 20-day measure was $10.38. The 12-period exponential moving average was $10.00, and the 26-period measure was $10.05. Each exceeded the $9.73 spot price.

Longer-term averages gave a different view of the same snapshot. AVAX traded above its 50-day average of $9.55 and its 200-day average of $8.19. The spot price was therefore above both longer-term reference levels while remaining below the four shorter-term measures.

Momentum indicators offered no clear sign of a turn. The 14-period relative strength index registered 45.45. The moving average convergence-divergence line and its signal line each read -0.0518, producing a histogram of 0.0000 at the displayed precision. A stochastic %K reading of 24.33 exceeded the %D reading of 19.46.

In futures, open interest on Binance was about $93.1 million, down 4.77% over 24 hours. The eight-hour funding rate was 0.0100%. The drop in open interest does not establish whether long or short positions accounted for the change.

At 3 a.m. ET (07:00 UTC) on Oct. 21, accounts in Binance’s AVAX futures global long/short account ratio were 58.5% net long and 41.5% net short. The top-trader cohort was 65.9% net long and 34.1% net short. Those percentages cover accounts on Binance, rather than positioning across the wider market.

One-hour taker activity showed 174,030 buy contracts and 147,222 sell contracts, a buy/sell ratio of 1.1821. That measure tracks trading during the hour, while the long/short ratio describes how accounts were positioned.

An [Oct. 20 Binance spot reading](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/investing/35702>) placed AVAX at $9.47 at 9:10 a.m. ET (13:10 UTC). The seven-day average stood at $9.81 in the Oct. 21 snapshot; any later close would need to be compared with the average then in effect.
