> At $82,787, a 24-hour futures model put short-liquidation exposure at $289 million on a 5% rise. A separate map showed its largest concentrations near $85,000 and $87,000.

The $87,000 area combines modeled short-liquidation exposure with a band of asks and recent buyers’ cost basis, putting possible forced buying near potential overhead supply.

At 12:21 a.m. ET (04:21 UTC) on Wednesday, Oct. 21, Bitcoin was priced at $82,787 in a 24-hour perpetual-futures model for Binance’s BTC/USDT market. The model showed $289 million in short-liquidation exposure under a 5% rise to $86,926. It put potential long liquidations at $416.6 million in a 5% decline to $78,647. Both amounts are scenario estimates, not confirmed positions or guaranteed closures. The totals reflect separate price moves from the snapshot level.

A separate map dated Wednesday, Oct. 21, marked its two largest liquidation concentrations near $85,000 and $87,000, with another bright level around $79,600. The upper cluster falls within an ask band spanning $86,500 to $87,500. It is also close to the $86,700 cost basis for buyers whose BTC purchases were made six to 12 months earlier.

An earlier [assessment of Bitcoin’s overhead liquidation cluster](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/investing/26713>) placed it near $90,000. The Oct. 21 map instead marks its two largest concentrations near $85,000 and $87,000.

Bitcoin’s lower reference area is near $80,000. The deepest hourly close in the Thursday, Oct. 15, dip was $80,100, below the cost-basis line for U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The combined cost basis for those funds and tracked corporate treasuries was between $80,000 and $81,500. The ETFs took in about $653 million on Monday, Oct. 19, their largest daily inflow since Sept. 22. ETF trading volume that day was below a typical day’s level over the past year.

Liquidation maps and futures models describe possible exposure rather than completed closures or resting orders. The model’s rising-price scenario puts potential short liquidations near $86,926, while the ask band identifies possible supply in the same area. Its falling-price scenario places potential long-liquidation exposure near $78,647. These levels do not confirm that liquidations will occur or establish Bitcoin’s next direction.
