DeepSeek’s Flash-1017 release was dated Oct. 17. Flash-1017 improved benchmark results, completed tasks faster and produced briefer responses than its predecessor.

In a separate Sept. 10 announcement, V4.1-Flash’s KV cache required 75% less HBM and 87.5% less SSD storage than the prior generation. That announcement came more than a month before the Flash-1017 update.
