> The 10 products cover assets including Bitcoin and Ether. Estimates use Oct. 20 market prices and may change as underlying asset prices move.

Grayscale opened in-kind subscriptions for eligible investors in 10 digital-asset products on Oct. 21, with estimated minimum contributions ranging from about $80,300 to $364,800. The option lets subscribers contribute digital assets for product shares without first converting them to cash. The new estimates add dollar minimums to Grayscale’s in-kind option across 10 products.

The amounts are approximate, based on prevailing market prices on Oct. 20, and can move as the relevant assets’ prices change. The products cover Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), Chainlink (LINK), Dogecoin (DOGE), Hyperliquid (HYPE), Sui (SUI), XRP and Zcash (ZEC).

Subscriptions take place in the primary market and must be arranged through an authorized participant or another conduit to one. Product availability, facilitator fees and other terms apply.

A July 2025 SEC action permitted authorized participants to use crypto assets when creating or redeeming exchange-traded product shares. Under that structure, participants can use the underlying asset to create or redeem shares instead of using cash for the transaction.

Depending on account rules and product terms, holders may be able to keep the shares in brokerage or retirement accounts or use them in margin, collateral or listed-options arrangements. “Institutional custody is increasingly valuable,” said Steve Vanourny, Grayscale’s Head of Index.

An in-kind contribution may still involve selling or swapping tokens into a product’s underlying asset. Shares can trade above or below net asset value, and tax treatment is uncertain and may lead to taxable events.

Although some product names include ETF, the products are exchange-traded products that are not registered investment companies under the Investment Company Act of 1940. They therefore do not face the same requirements as registered ETFs or mutual funds.
