> JPMorgan lifted its target to $115 from $103 on the same day but kept a neutral rating, leaving a $20 gap between the firms’ targets.

Robinhood (HOOD) received a $135 price target from Rosenblatt Securities on Oct. 20, while JPMorgan also raised its target, setting contrasting analyst views ahead of the company’s Oct. 27 earnings report.

Rosenblatt analyst Chris Brendler initiated coverage with a buy rating. JPMorgan raised its target from $103 to $115 that day but kept its neutral rating, putting its target $20 below Rosenblatt’s.

Robinhood shares rose about 4.16% on Oct. 21 and closed near $102.29.

Brendler’s rationale focused on Robinhood’s expansion beyond its original trading app. He cited brokerage, retirement accounts, credit cards, futures, index options and crypto, along with brokerage market-share gains, changes to Pattern Day Trading rules, international expansion and relatively fixed operating costs.

JPMorgan’s higher target reflected a more favorable view of recent business momentum. Its neutral rating reflected caution about valuation and long-term sustainability. Robinhood is scheduled to report third-quarter results on Oct. 27.
