> The euro-denominated series tracks Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and XRP through completed years; 2026 is still underway.

Four major crypto assets posted sharply different annual results through 2025, with euro-denominated returns ranging from losses of 93.8% to gains of 888.5%, illustrating the scale of year-to-year movement.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell 72.1% in 2018 and 62% in 2022. It then rose 146.8% in 2023 and 135% in 2024, before posting a 17.2% decline in 2025. The latest annual loss followed two years of gains, after an earlier steep decline in the period.

Ether (ETH) gained 423.5% in 2020 and 436.3% in 2021, then dropped 65.5% in 2022. Its return turned positive again, reaching 85.9% in 2023 and 55.2% in 2024, before Ether fell 21.5% in 2025. The series also records an 81.5% Ether loss in 2018.

Solana (SOL) recorded the largest gain in the figures shown: 888.5% in 2023, following a 93.8% decline in 2022. It gained 97.8% in 2024, then lost 41.9% in 2025.

XRP fell 81.6% in 2018 and 56.7% in 2022. It gained 306.6% in 2021 and 259% in 2024. Those figures show losses and gains in the years listed, with no 2025 XRP return included here.

Solana had both the steepest loss and the strongest gain among the listed annual results. Bitcoin also shifted from a 62% loss in 2022 to a 146.8% gain the following year. Ether moved from a 65.5% decline in 2022 to gains in each of the next two years, before falling again in 2025.

The figures are denominated in euros, so they are not U.S. dollar returns. They should not be compared directly with stock or bond performance figures quoted in dollars.

Annual totals can differ when calculations use different price series, methods or year-end cutoffs. Crypto markets trade continuously, so the price selected to mark a calendar year’s end can affect the result. The figures cover completed calendar years through 2025; 2026 remains in progress.
