> Bitcoin's 24-hour decline reached about 2.3%, while the S&P 500 closed 1.2% lower.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell to $81,136 as the Nasdaq Composite sank 2.6% Thursday after President Donald Trump renewed the possibility of U.S. military action against Iran, pressuring risk assets.

Bitcoin dropped below $82,000 after U.S. trading opened, reaching an intraday low of $81,136. That put its 24-hour decline at about 2.3%. BTC had come close to $85,000 the previous day before its advance stalled.

Trump said the U.S. was not negotiating with Iran and repeated that new military action remained possible, without giving details about next steps.

The Nasdaq Composite closed 2.6% lower, and the S&P 500 fell 1.2%. A rebound in energy prices and concerns about artificial intelligence valuations added pressure to technology stocks. The 10-year Treasury yield retreated to its lowest level since Sept. 23 and approached 5% during the session as Treasury prices rose.

Bitcoin also hovered near the roughly $81,500 aggregate cost basis for U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds. The Federal Reserve's next rate-setting meeting is scheduled for Oct. 28.
