> The actively managed fund offers exposure to several Samsung Group companies and must normally invest at least 80% of net assets, plus investment borrowings, in Samsung-linked securities or instruments.

WallStreetX ETFs Inc., which operates as xETFs, launched the xETFs Samsung Group ETF under the ticker SMNG on Oct. 23. The fund was listed on Nasdaq’s Global Market that day. The fund is designed to provide single-ticker exposure to companies across Samsung Group.

The fund is actively managed and spans technology, financials, consumer and services, industrials, and life sciences. Its announced initial allocations include 20% each for Samsung Electronics and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, plus 7.5% for Samsung SDI. Those figures are the launch weights announced by xETFs.

The fund’s normal investment policy requires it to put at least 80% of its net assets, plus investment borrowings, into securities or instruments tied to Samsung Group companies. It can gain that exposure through equity securities, depositary receipts, swaps, other ETFs and exchange-traded products. This gives the fund multiple ways to hold exposure to the group without limiting its portfolio to direct shares.

Teucrium Investment Advisors LLC is the investment adviser, while xETFs serves as sub-adviser. The fund is classified as non-diversified and will concentrate more than 25% of its assets in information-technology-related industries, even though its stated scope covers several sectors.

Annual operating expenses are listed at 0.65%. A contractual fee waiver lowers that figure to 0.49% through at least Oct. 20, 2027. The fund’s performance may depend heavily on Samsung Group, and risks affecting one affiliate may also affect other portfolio companies. Samsung and its affiliates do not sponsor or endorse the fund.

“While Samsung Electronics is at the center of Samsung Group, the broader investment opportunity extends beyond it,” Kenneth Wong, xETFs’ chief investment officer, said.
