Ethereum options open interest fell 1.73% to $5.77 billion, while 24-hour trading volume totaled $655.37 million. Calls dominated both outstanding positions and daily trading, with the October 27 $2,375 call leading volume.

Call options held the larger share of Ethereum options positions and trading activity. Their share of daily volume was lower than their share of open interest.

As of October 26, 2026, the data showed total Ethereum options open interest of $5.77 billion, down from $5.87 billion in the previous reading. Trading volume over 24 hours reached $655.37 million.

Calls accounted for 63.14% of open interest and puts for 36.86%. By 24-hour volume, calls represented 59.21% and puts 40.79%.

The composition showed a call bias in accumulated positions and short-term activity. However, the smaller call share in trading volume indicated that the daily flow was less tilted toward calls than outstanding positions were.

The contracts with the most open interest were, in order, Deribit's December 25, 2026 $3,200 call, December 25, 2026 $2,200 call and October 30, 2026 $2,600 call.

The leading contracts by 24-hour volume were Binance's October 27, 2026 $2,375 call, OKX's October 27, 2026 $2,400 call and Bybit's October 27, 2026 $2,430 call.

[Editor's note] Options are derivatives used to take leveraged positions on an underlying asset's price or hedge existing exposure. Calls give holders the right to buy at a predetermined price, while puts give them the right to sell. Open interest measures outstanding contracts and indicates the accumulated size of positions.

Comparing call and put shares across open interest and trading volume helps distinguish accumulated positioning from short-term activity. These shares alone do not establish traders' directional intentions, since options can also form part of hedges or broader strategies.
