> A reported $1.44 intraday quote compared with a $0.715 split-adjusted previous close. Azitra also said it would pause sales through its at-the-market program.

Azitra shares showed a roughly 101% gain in an intraday snapshot Monday as the dermatology company released ex vivo skin-test results and said it would pause sales through its at-the-market program.

At 12:05 p.m. ET, the shares were at $1.44, compared with a split-adjusted previous close of $0.715. The 1,900% comparison with a pre-split price near $0.07 is not comparable: Azitra’s 1-for-10 reverse split took effect at 12:01 a.m. ET Oct. 26, before split-adjusted trading began.

Azitra reported that one application of its 2% ATR-COSF formulation was associated with about 15% lower wrinkle appearance after three hours, 20% after 24 hours and 50% after 48 hours in dorsal skin explants. A hydrogel-only control showed increases of about 15% at three hours and 20% by 48 hours. In a separate face-lift skin test, the company said its 4% formulation outperformed the 2% formulation and hydrogel control across five elasticity measures six hours after application.

The tests used skin removed during cosmetic surgery and maintained outside the body, rather than living participants. Azitra describes ATR-COSF as a cosmetic formulation made with supernatant from an engineered S. epidermidis strain that secretes a functional unit of human filaggrin. The company anticipates testing the 4% formulation in a first-in-human study of about 30 subjects, with initial data expected by year-end 2026.

Azitra said it would not use its at-the-market stock-sale program for the foreseeable future. The company sold 1,000 shares through the program from Sept. 28 through Oct. 26 for about $126 gross, and said it could resume sales or pursue other financing at its discretion.

Azitra CEO Francisco Salva said, “We look forward to presenting our ATR-COSF results in more detail during BIO-EUROPE.” Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer Travis Whitfill is scheduled to present the data in Cologne on Nov. 10 at 10:45 a.m. ET.
