U.S. stock indexes were higher or nearly unchanged at Tuesday’s open, led by a 0.47% gain in the Nasdaq as the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 1.4%.

The S&P 500 added 0.3%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average showed little movement. Nasdaq had the largest increase among the three major benchmarks. The semiconductor index’s rise outpaced each of those broad indexes in the opening snapshot.

GM shares advanced 3.3%. A transfer of its stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange to Nasdaq is scheduled for Nov. 17.

S&P Global gained 4.7% after its third-quarter results exceeded expectations. Boeing declined 2.5% after its third-quarter loss was larger than expected. The company moves diverged, with S&P Global rising and Boeing falling after their quarterly results.
