An SEC filing lists Oct. 27 as the registration effective date for two Franklin Templeton funds that would reinvest stock dividends to add Bitcoin exposure; the date does not establish when trading will start.

The funds, identified as FBEQ and FIBT, would target about 95% U.S. equity exposure and 5% Bitcoin (BTC) exposure. Dividends from their stock holdings would be reinvested to increase Bitcoin exposure rather than distributed to investors.

FBEQ would track a large-cap U.S. stock index covering about 500 companies and lists a 0.09% annual fee. FIBT would follow an innovation-themed index of 100 U.S. companies and lists a 0.19% annual fee.

The Oct. 27 effective date does not establish when trading will start.
