> CoinGecko uses searches from the previous three hours, while CoinMarketCap’s trending page reflects token visibility over 24 hours. DEX Screener factors in trading activity and other signals.

Token discovery pages can rank a coin differently because platforms use distinct inputs, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap use different lookback periods for their trending lists.

CoinGecko ranks its trending list by searches over the previous three hours. CoinMarketCap’s trending page reflects token visibility over 24 hours. Phantom ranks trending tokens by recent activity.

DEX Screener’s trending score combines volume, liquidity and transactions with unique makers, holders, page visitors, reactions, verified information and security audits. Its precise weighting for those factors is not public.

Paid Boosts can temporarily raise a token’s DEX Screener score for 12 to 24 hours, depending on the package. A Boost does not guarantee a trending rank.

The different methods make the rankings difficult to compare as measures of demand or token quality. Phantom lets users browse tokens and apps on its website without opening a wallet, but finding a token by its contract address does not guarantee that it is safe.
