As of 3:31 p.m. KST on Oct. 29 (06:31 UTC), the top 100 traders by 24-hour performance on Hyperliquid, Lighter, dYdX and Pacifica combined hold about $215 million in long positions and $2.83 billion in short positions, a long share of about 7%. The figure sums each exchange's top 100 by 24-hour performance separately, by asset.

The 30-day group holds about $317 million long and $3.34 billion short, a short share of about 91%, close to yesterday, and its unrealized result went from a loss of about $64 million to a gain of about $21 million. The 24-hour group is now 93% short, the 7-day group 91% and the 30-day group 91%, so all three groups sit on the same side.

BTC in the 24-hour group has 66 long and 171 short accounts, about $42 million long and $907 million short, a short share of 96%. Yesterday evening it was 141 long and 51 short with about $305 million long. In the 7-day group the 70 long and 167 short accounts hold about $940 million short, down from $996 million, and in the 30-day group long notional went from about $100 million to $83 million. BTC positions carry unrealized losses of about $15 million in both the 7-day and 30-day groups, roughly half of yesterday's $30 million and $28 million.

ETH in the 24-hour group has 52 long and 152 short accounts, about $75 million long and $715 million short, a long share of 9.5%. Yesterday evening it was 99 long and 44 short with about $125 million long and $26 million short, an 83% long share. In the 7-day group short notional fell from about $887 million to $814 million and long from $86 million to $66 million, while ETH's unrealized gain in that group grew from about $0.7 million to $17 million.

By asset, the biggest move in the 24-hour group's long share by headcount among the top 20 by notional came in [Zcash (ZEC)](<https://satoshinote.io/traders/coins/zec?window=day&utm_source=tokenpost_com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=coin_positions_daily_en_20261029_18>). ZEC went from 79 long and 19 short accounts (81%) yesterday evening to 28 long and 88 short (24%). By notional, long positions fell from about $121 million to $0.8 million and shorts rose from about $1.6 million to $239 million, taking the long share from 99% to 0.3%. It is at $1,243, down 5.8% over 24 hours, with an unrealized gain of about $8.2 million in the 24-hour group.

In the 7-day group the largest headcount shift was Monero (XMR), from 35 long and 34 short accounts (51%) to 31 long and 44 short (41%). The 7-day group in Hyperliquid (HYPE) is 52 long and 86 short, about $64 million long and $224 million short, a 22% long share. The figure has gone 6% on the evening of Oct. 26, 15% on the morning of Oct. 27, 6% that evening, 26% yesterday morning and 24% yesterday evening, moving every edition. HYPE has the largest unrealized loss of any asset in all three groups: about $16 million in the 24-hour group, $35 million in the 7-day group and $48 million in the 30-day group.

A 24-hour group whose long share fell from 82% yesterday evening to 7% does not mean the accounts in yesterday's edition closed longs and opened shorts. The group is re-selected every hour on one day's performance, so on a day when prices fall, accounts holding shorts climb into the ranking and accounts holding longs drop out. Over 24 hours BTC is down 2.0%, ETH 2.7%, ZEC 5.8% and NEAR Protocol (NEAR) 9.0%, with most large assets lower. That the 7-day and 30-day groups' short shares barely moved over the same hours, staying around 91%, shows the difference.

The figures also sum only the top-100 positions on four exchanges, so a few large positions can sway the notional split, and holdings on other exchanges or in spot are not counted, leaving any hedging unknown. By notional, all of the top 20 assets in the 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day groups lean short, and by headcount none of them has more long accounts than short. Yesterday evening all of the top 20 in the 24-hour group leaned long by notional. Current positions describe the present, not where the market goes next.
