> Kraken Prop added gold, silver, oil, copper and natural gas. Breakout added four markets and cut eligible non-crypto fees the same day.

Kraken added six commodity markets to Kraken Prop on Oct. 29, while cutting commissions on non-crypto markets for plans other than Lite. Breakout, which Kraken acquired, introduced four commodities the same day and cut fees for eligible accounts.

Breakout’s new markets are gold, Brent crude oil, copper and natural gas. Gold (GOLD) allows up to 5x leverage and a $500,000 maximum position. Brent crude oil (BRENTOIL) has the same leverage ceiling and a $200,000 cap. Copper (COPPER) permits up to 10x leverage, with a $50,000 cap, while Natural gas (NATGAS) allows up to 3x leverage and a $50,000 maximum.

Breakout lowered its fee on eligible non-crypto markets from 0.04% to 0.02% per order for Classic, Pro and Turbo accounts. The reduced rate applies to existing evaluation and funded accounts. Crypto fees remain at 0.04%, and Spark accounts are excluded.

The additions bring Breakout’s non-crypto lineup to eight markets. The other four are the Nasdaq 100, S&P 500, WTI crude oil and silver. Breakout markets trade 24/7.

Kraken Prop’s six additions are gold, silver, WTI oil, Brent oil, copper and natural gas. The commission cut applies to plans other than Lite: charges on non-crypto markets fell from four basis points to two basis points per side. Crypto commissions were unchanged.

Kraken’s commission is quoted in basis points. One basis point equals 0.01%, making two basis points 0.02% per side. Breakout’s 0.02% fee is charged per order. Both headline rates were cut in half, but the products express the charges differently.

The programs also have different trading structures. Breakout’s evaluation program can lead to eligibility for a funded account, and funded accounts use simulated capital. Kraken Prop users submit trade signals without holding real positions, and its commodity markets use index oracles.
