> The Fed held its federal funds target range at 3.75%-4.00% in a 10-2 vote as markets weighed possible December rate increases in Europe and Japan. Tech companies’ AI spending also figured in the reassessment.

Market repricing reflected central-bank uncertainty, technology companies’ AI spending and a Binance security incident as investors weighed possible rate increases abroad in December.

The Federal Reserve held the federal funds target range at 3.75%-4.00% in a [10-2 vote](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/regulation/43896>) at its October meeting. Fed Chair Warsh made no commitment to a rate move in December or later.

The Fed also announced that one meeting in 2027 and two in 2028 would have no rate vote and would be used to discuss monetary policy strategy. Fewer decision points could make markets more sensitive to economic data released between meetings, increasing rate volatility and the term premium.

The European Central Bank held rates, citing earlier inflation data that had not yet produced second-round effects. The Bank of Japan also held rates and said inflation had reached its 2% target. Markets were pricing in the possibility of December rate increases by both central banks.

Shares of Alphabet, Amazon, Meta and Intel fell after the companies released quarterly results. Market concerns included current earnings and future capital spending, especially the pace and profitability of investment in AI infrastructure.

A security incident at Binance on Friday morning initially reduced crypto trading activity. The market later stabilized. Market participants appeared to view the incident as company-level risk, not a systemic threat to the broader crypto market or its infrastructure.

Markets will focus on economic data released between rate decisions and on technology companies’ guidance for AI infrastructure spending and expected returns.
