> Alphabet's ad revenue missed expectations Wednesday, while Intel's data-center supply issues added to market concerns.

Shares in Meta, Alphabet and Intel fell beneath recent offering prices Friday, leaving buyers with positions below their purchase prices as the declines may make it harder for companies to raise funds.

The slide began after Alphabet's Wednesday results showed weaker-than-expected search and other advertising revenue. Intel later disclosed supply interruptions tied to components used in data centers, further unsettling investors.

The Alphabet and Intel developments highlighted doubts about whether companies can sustain massive AI spending and turn it into lasting gains for shareholders. The market has struggled to absorb large AI-related stock offerings, and lower prices could complicate companies' efforts to secure needed funding.

That financing concern has also clouded Anthropic's IPO prospects. The company filed an IPO prospectus Oct. 26, and its chances of matching or exceeding the $75 billion raised by SpaceX in a record offering earlier this year have grown less certain.
