Nine large cryptocurrency transfers worth a combined $943.8 million were recorded in the three hours ending at 2 p.m. ET Friday, Oct. 30, with more value moving from unidentified wallets to exchanges than in the opposite direction. The largest transfer was 255 million Tether (USDT), valued at $254.8 million, from Bitfinex to Tether Treasury at 11:12 a.m. ET. Transfers from unidentified wallets to exchanges totaled $354.5 million, compared with $226.4 million sent from exchanges to unidentified wallets. At 11:12 a.m. ET, another 108.2 million USDT ($108.1 million) moved from Bitfinex to Tether Treasury. Other stablecoin transfers included 114.4 million USDT ($114.3 million) from an unidentified wallet to Bitfinex at 11:58 a.m.; 112,516,147 USD Coin (USDC) ($112.6 million) from an unidentified wallet to USDC Treasury at 12:43 p.m.; and 100 million USDC ($100.1 million) from Ethena to an unidentified wallet at 11:58 a.m. The other four transfers involved Ether (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC). Unidentified wallets sent 33,331 ETH ($75 million) and 23,582 ETH ($52.6 million) to Coinbase Institutional at 11:29 a.m. and 11:58 a.m., respectively. Coinbase Institutional sent 31,711 ETH ($71.1 million) to a new, unidentified wallet at 11:43 a.m. and 713 BTC ($55.3 million) to an unidentified wallet at 11:58 a.m. Exchange-bound transfers are often monitored for possible selling, while transfers away from exchanges may be viewed as potential holding.
