# XPL Slides Nearly 20% as $24.5 Million in Positions Are Liquidated

XPL fell nearly 20% on Nov. 1 as $24.49 million in positions were liquidated over a one-hour period, with long positions accounting for almost the entire total.

The token was quoted at $0.0727, and its market capitalization dropped to $408 million. The reported liquidation amount was $24.4912 million. Long positions made up $24.3106 million of that figure, while short positions accounted for $180,500.

The figures show a sharp split between the two position types during the one-hour window: liquidations tied to long positions were more than 100 times the reported short-position amount. The price and market capitalization figures provide a snapshot alongside the move, while the liquidation breakdown shows which position type accounted for most of the closures.

Long positions represented about 99.3% of the reported liquidation total, while shorts made up about 0.7%. The long-side amount was roughly 135 times the short-side amount, a difference of about $24.13 million. The liquidation total and position split cover the same one-hour window.
