> Bitcoin options open interest rose 1.40% to $28.72 billion, with calls holding a 57.87% share. A $58,000 Deribit put led 24-hour contract volume.

Bitcoin options open interest rose 1.40% from the previous day to $28.72 billion, while 24-hour trading volume totaled $2.23 billion. Calls accounted for the larger share of both outstanding positions and daily trading, although their lead was narrower in trading volume.

Positioning and daily activity both leaned toward calls. The smaller gap between calls and puts in daily turnover pointed to a more balanced mix of upside exposure and downside protection in short-term trading.

As of November 2, 2026, at 12:01 UTC, Bitcoin options open interest stood at $28.72 billion, up from $28.32 billion the previous day. Trading volume over 24 hours reached $2.23 billion.

Calls represented 57.87% of open interest, compared with 42.13% for puts. In 24-hour trading volume, calls accounted for 52.97% and puts for 47.03%.

The call-heavy open interest mix suggested an upside tilt in outstanding positions. Calls also led daily trading, but the narrower margin indicated that put activity remained substantial alongside demand for upside exposure.

The contracts with the most open interest, in descending order, were the $80,000 call, the $60,000 put and the $100,000 call, all expiring December 25, 2026, on Deribit.

The leading contracts by 24-hour volume were the $58,000 put expiring November 27, 2026, on Deribit; the $79,500 call expiring November 3, 2026, on OKX; and the $80,500 call expiring November 3, 2026, on Binance.

[Editor's note] Options are derivatives used to take leveraged exposure to an underlying asset's price or hedge existing positions. A call gives its holder the right to buy at a predetermined price, while a put gives the right to sell. Open interest measures outstanding contracts and indicates the accumulated size of positions.

Call and put shares, together with changes in open interest and volume, help distinguish accumulated positioning from short-term activity. Rising open interest indicates an increase in outstanding positions, but a larger call share alone does not establish a bullish outlook. Put trading can reflect demand for downside protection or exposure to volatility.
