> The snapshots cover a changing group; NVIDIA shares fell 10.4% from Sept. 30 to Oct. 30, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 2.86% on Oct. 30.

The market capitalization of AI-tagged crypto assets fell $2.60 billion between Oct. 3 and Oct. 31, a decline of about 15.9% that provides a category-specific measure of October’s crypto market weakness.

The category was valued at $16.32 billion at the end of Oct. 3 UTC and $13.72 billion at the end of Oct. 31 UTC. The $2.60 billion difference comes from rounded figures. Because the first reading is for Oct. 3, the comparison covers that interval rather than all of October. It does not show the daily path between the two observations or whether most of the decrease came on a particular date.

The grouping applies an artificial-intelligence tag and a top-500 market-cap cutoff. The group is not fixed: its tags and qualifying assets can change over time. A Nov. 2 snapshot counted 31 of 330 tagged coins within the top 500. The comparison therefore describes a changing category, not a fixed index. Market-cap changes reflect price-implied value and do not measure money flowing into or out of the assets.

The narrower AI-tagged figure offers a separate view of that weakness. NVIDIA shares closed at $228.38 on Sept. 30 and $204.64 on Oct. 30, a 10.4% decline across those closes. The Nasdaq Composite ended Oct. 30 at 25,437, down 747.73 points, or 2.86%, that session.

The stock and index changes overlapped with the crypto category’s decline, but the figures do not establish that losses in U.S. technology shares caused the token category to shrink.

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) held the top market-cap rank in the category in a snapshot at 7:28 a.m. ET Monday (12:28 UTC), with a market capitalization of $5.43 billion. That figure measures its relative size at that moment; it does not provide its return for October.

Apple’s fourth-quarter results call is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET Monday (22:00 UTC). The U.S. general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. The calendar places both events just after the Oct. 31 observation, but the market-cap figures do not link either event to the category’s decline.
