> Seagate Technology, Western Digital and AMD each lost more than 10% in early U.S. trading. Micron, Intel and Nvidia also declined.

U.S. semiconductor and storage shares extended their losses in early trading Thursday, with declines above 10% at Sandisk, Seagate Technology, Western Digital and chipmaker AMD.

Sandisk (SNDK) was down 12.14%. Seagate Technology (STX) lost 10.85%, and Western Digital (WDC) fell 10.90%. AMD was down 10.97%, a decline comparable to those at the two storage firms.

Other chipmakers posted smaller losses: Micron (MU) fell 8.10%, Intel (INTC) declined 6.20%, and Nvidia (NVDA) dropped 4.11%.

The declines widened from premarket trading for several companies. Sandisk, Western Digital and Seagate had been down between 5% and 6.5% before the opening bell, while Micron's loss grew from 4.73% to 8.10%. The session's moves therefore reached beyond storage names, with chip companies including AMD, Intel and Nvidia also lower.

Sandisk's early loss was the largest among the seven listed companies, followed by AMD, Western Digital and Seagate. Nvidia's 4.11% decline was the smallest of the named stocks.
