Crypto liquidations reached about $579 million across the market over a 24-hour period on Thursday, with long positions making up about $440 million as Bitcoin and Ether fell.

Short positions accounted for about $140 million. The total and position figures are approximate.

Bitcoin (BTC) liquidations totaled about $171 million, while Ether (ETH) liquidations reached about $70.61 million, or roughly $242 million combined.

At 10:23 a.m. ET (15:23 UTC), Bitcoin traded at $77,154, down 4.26% over 24 hours. Ether was $2,295.15, down 5.68%.
