> Ethereum options open interest fell 12.86% to $5.63 billion. Calls led both positioning and daily volume, with the November 8 $2,300 call on OKX topping turnover.

Ethereum options open interest fell 12.86% from the previous day to $5.63 billion. Calls accounted for the larger share of both outstanding positions and daily trading volume, with the $2,300 call on OKX leading turnover.

The market retained a call-heavy positioning profile as the value of outstanding contracts declined. Daily trading also favored calls, putting positioning and turnover on the same side of the options mix.

As of November 6, 2026, at 12:22 UTC, Ethereum options open interest totaled $5.63 billion, down from $6.46 billion the previous day. Daily options trading volume stood at approximately $1.71 billion.

Calls represented 62.62% of open interest, while puts accounted for 37.38%. By daily trading volume, calls held a 57.48% share and puts made up 42.52%.

Calls dominated outstanding positions and attracted the larger share of daily turnover. That mix indicates greater activity in calls, although the breakdown alone does not establish whether those contracts were bought or sold, or used as part of hedged positions.

The contracts with the most open interest were, in order, the $3,200 call expiring December 25, 2026, on Deribit; the $2,200 call expiring December 25, 2026, on Deribit; and the $2,000 put expiring November 13, 2026, on Deribit.

The leading contracts by daily trading volume were the $2,300 call expiring November 8, 2026, on OKX; the $2,275 call expiring November 9, 2026, on Binance; and the $2,300 call expiring November 9, 2026, on Binance.

[Editor's note] Options are derivatives used to take exposure to an underlying asset's price movements or hedge existing positions. A call gives its holder the right to buy at a predetermined price, while a put gives the right to sell. Open interest measures outstanding contracts and indicates the accumulated size of positions.

Call and put shares, alongside changes in open interest and trading volume, help distinguish accumulated positioning from daily activity. These measures require context: a larger call share does not by itself establish a bullish outlook, and turnover can reflect hedging as well as directional trading.
