> The Pairpoint co-founder will advise on mobile-operator adoption, ecosystem development and positioning as Telcoin Network targets a mainnet launch later in 2026.

The Telcoin Association appointed Pairpoint co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer David Palmer as Strategic Telecom Advisor on Oct. 13. He will advise on mobile-operator adoption and broader ecosystem development.

Palmer will advise on participation by mobile operators, mobile-money providers and the GSMA, along with broader ecosystem development and positioning. Validator onboarding with mobile operators is underway as Telcoin Network targets a mainnet launch later in 2026.

The Telcoin Association is a Swiss nonprofit association that governs the Telcoin Platform. It describes Telcoin Network as a public, Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible blockchain secured exclusively by GSMA mobile-network operators.

Telcoin (TEL) is the native token of the Telcoin Platform and the gas token for Telcoin Network.

Palmer has more than 25 years of telecom experience, including about a decade working on blockchain and Web3 initiatives. He co-founded Pairpoint, a venture launched by Vodafone and Sumitomo to support transactions among connected devices, vehicles and machines.

“Mobile operators already run the world’s most trusted networks for communication. Telcoin Network lets them extend that trust to money, on a standard they own rather than rent,” Palmer said.

Parker Spann, founder of the Telcoin Association, said, “The industry that standardized GSM, SMS, and roaming is built to coordinate a global standard for money.”

Palmer and Spann are scheduled to discuss the appointment and Telcoin Network during an X Space on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. ET (5 p.m. UTC).
