> Min-Liang Tan gave no timetable for the outlook. Razer is developing AI products for players and tools for game studios.

Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said artificial intelligence could help gaming become a $1 trillion industry, a vision that would dwarf the sector’s near-term revenue forecast.

Tan said the outlook continues a prediction he has held for 20 years: that gaming would eventually reach nearly everyone. “AI is going to bring a new renaissance to all of gaming,” he said. He gave no timetable or calculation for the $1 trillion figure.

Global gaming revenue reached $201.6 billion in 2025, up 9.1% from the previous year, and is forecast to total $213.9 billion in 2026. The worldwide player base is projected to reach 3.70 billion this year. Player penetration and conversion are expected to flatten through 2029.

Razer’s AI work includes products for consumers and software for game studios. Project AVA, introduced at CES on Jan. 6, 2026, is a desk companion with an animated avatar that offers help with daily tasks and gaming strategy. AVA is expected to ship in the second half of 2026.

A headset concept first shown at CES as Project Motoko is now called Barracuda AI. It has two cameras positioned at eye level and is designed as a wearable vision platform for daily tasks, productivity, content capture and gaming.

For developers, Razer’s QA Companion-AI can detect bugs from gameplay footage, generate test plans and use autonomous gameplay agents. The tool is aimed at game testing, extending the company’s AI effort beyond consumer devices.

Razer went private in May 2022. He has described the 2022 buyout as giving Razer more latitude to develop AI initiatives without public-market earnings pressure.
