Newell Brands appointed Guillermo Beade chief operating officer to oversee its global sales, central marketing and supply chain functions, with the role taking effect Oct. 26.

Beade will report to President and CEO Chris Peterson and join the company’s executive committee. His responsibilities include coordinating the three functions and developing the global structure, systems, technology, processes and talent that support them.

Beade most recently led SC Johnson Consumer Brands North America. He previously led SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands, held management roles at PepsiCo and began his career at Unilever.

Newell Brands’ products include Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Coleman, Graco and Yankee Candle.
