> The appointment took effect Oct. 21 after quarterly sales fell 3.4% to $923.4 million. Adjusted operating margin rose to 7.1%.

MillerKnoll named Jeff Stutz CEO and a member of its board effective Oct. 21, formalizing his leadership after a quarter of lower sales as the company prioritizes growth and profitability.

The board selected Stutz unanimously after a search. He had served as interim CEO since June 30.

For the 13 weeks ended Aug. 29, 2026, MillerKnoll’s net sales were $923.4 million, down 3.4% from a year earlier. Operating margin remained at 5.6%. Adjusted operating margin increased to 7.1% from 6.3%, with net tariff refunds contributing 110 basis points to the adjusted figure.

Stutz joined Herman Miller in 2001 and has more than 25 years of design and manufacturing leadership experience. He spent more than 10 years as chief financial officer and served as chief operating officer from September 2025 to June 2026.

Stutz said he plans to “strengthen our balance sheet.”
