Blue Dolphin Energy Company appointed William Christopher McDougall chief financial officer effective Oct. 17. The new finance chief also took on the roles of treasurer, assistant secretary and principal financial officer.

The company disclosed the appointment Oct. 22. McDougall joined Blue Dolphin as director of corporate development in 2015; his business leadership experience across oil and gas, chemicals and investment management exceeds 25 years.

His previous roles include positions at Westlake Securities, Treaty Oak Capital Management and The Dow Chemical Company.

Blue Dolphin’s subsidiaries operate a crude distillation tower in Nixon, Texas, with capacity of 15,000 barrels per day. They also have petroleum storage capacity of more than 1.25 million barrels. The company trades on OTCQX under the ticker BDCO.
