Crypto.com appointed Mohammed Mortajine chief compliance officer Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, after leadership roles at Western Union, ACI Worldwide and Paysafe; programs he oversaw covered more than 200 countries and territories.

Those programs involved teams across multiple jurisdictions. Mortajine said, “I'm excited to join at this moment.”

The appointment follows Antonio Alvarez’s departure from Crypto.com’s compliance operation; in August, Binance said he would join as deputy to Chief Compliance Officer Noah Perlman.

Crypto.com’s platform combines digital assets, traditional financial services and hybrid products. Prediction markets and tokenized real-world assets are among its newer use cases.

Separately, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform sought records from Crypto.com as part of a broader inquiry into prediction-market safeguards. The committee’s [records request to Crypto.com](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/regulation/25917>) covered customer identity checks, geographic restrictions and monitoring for suspicious or anomalous trading. Its Sept. 29 letter requested records dating from Jan. 1, 2024, and set an Oct. 13 response deadline. The document request did not establish that Crypto.com violated the law.
